Living in Georgetown, you learn to expect the unexpected when it comes to the weather. One day it can be hot and sunny, and the next day cold and windy. You never know what Mother Nature will throw your way! Unfortunately, when a hailstorm rolls through, it often leaves many vehicles with hail damage that ranges from a few mild dings, all the way to severe dents that require a lot of repair work.
Dingz Happen has been the go-to choice for affordable auto hail repair in Georgetown and the surrounding Austin areas since 2009. We specialize in paintless dent repair (PDR), which is a quick, effective, and affordable way to repair hail damage and dents for vehicles that still have the paint intact.
Paintless dent repair is a process that requires great attention to detail and refined skills in order to properly remove hail dents. This method is performed by slowly working the dents out of your vehicle’s body from the inside out, without any fillers or sanding. Not only is this technique effective in restoring your vehicle’s surface, but it also doesn’t require paint matching or replacing panels – unlike a traditional body shop repair – which often means the process is quicker and more cost-effective.
Our team of certified technicians will take a look at your vehicle and determine the amount of damage. Then, we’ll tailor a paintless dent repair service plan just for your car. We’ll factor in how many dents there are, as well as the size and depth of the hail damage, to give you a time and cost estimate for the overall hail damage repair process. In most cases, we can have door dings and smaller dents removed within hours to days – as opposed to waiting for weeks when choosing a traditional body shop.
As an added bonus, if you’re an environmentally focused person, you can breathe easy knowing our paintless dent auto repair process doesn’t harm nature since no harmful chemicals are used in our auto body shop.

Frequently. Williamson County is one of the most hail-prone areas in Texas. The Balcones Escarpment contributes to storm formation along the I-35 corridor, and Georgetown sits right in that path. Most residents experience at least one significant hailstorm every few years.
A garage is best. If you don’t have one, covered parking structures and carports help. In a pinch, parking next to a building on the side away from the approaching storm reduces exposure. Most parking around the square and at Wolf Ranch is open-air, so having a hail cover in your trunk during spring is smart.
Quarter-sized hail (about 1 inch) is typically the threshold for noticeable dents on most vehicles. Golf ball-sized and larger causes significant damage. The most common damaging hail in Central Texas falls in the quarter to golf ball range.
Yes, regularly. Sun City’s open parking areas at community facilities leave vehicles exposed during storms. Our shop is about 15 minutes south on I-35, and we handle everything from the initial estimate through insurance coordination and final repair.
Georgetown and northern Williamson County are squarely in Central Texas hail territory. The I-35 corridor funnels storm systems right through town each spring. Here are three recent hail repairs from the Georgetown area.
Alma’s Honda Civic got caught in a two-hour hail storm. Her insurance company wasn’t making it easy. We went to bat for her, dealt with the insurer, and got the claim handled fairly.
The Civic had dents across every exposed panel. We used PDR rods from behind each panel, starting with the roof and hood where the deepest impacts were. The Civic’s thinner gauge steel actually responds well to rod work, but you have to be careful not to over-push. We used a blending hammer and knockdown to fine-tune each dent after the initial push.
She told us we gave her back her livelihood and peace of mind. That one stuck with us.

Ben’s car had a large number of hail dents across multiple panels. We used our reflector board setup to identify every impact, then worked through them with PDR rods, starting at the deepest dents and finishing with the shallow ones. The shallow dents are the ones most techs miss, so we do a final pass under LED lighting to catch anything left.
He told us later that he went home, polished and waxed the car, inspected it closely, and couldn’t find any trace of the damage. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to.

Joe’s brand new Audi Q5 took serious hail damage. His insurance company undervalued the claim, which happens a lot. We dealt with the insurer directly, pushed back on their assessment, and got the full scope of damage approved.
The Audi had aluminum body panels in several areas, which require a different touch than steel. Aluminum doesn’t have the same memory, so we used slower, more controlled pushes with our rods and relied on glue pulling where the metal was too thin for backside access. We also had to order OEM parts from Audi for a couple of components that couldn’t be saved. When Joe picked it up, he said it looked like nothing ever happened.
